Cambridgeshire Partnerships Limited
(CPL) has been established to deliver one of the
most exciting programmes of new affordable homes in the area.
However, it’s almost impossible to talk about
Cambridgeshire Partnerships (CPL) without
first talking about the Cambridge Challenge.
The Cambridge Challenge was the vision of the Housing
Corporation and its aim was to
establish a step change in the delivery of affordable housing on three
new, major
development sites in Cambridgeshire. Thriving new communities that would
be well-managed,
well-designed and make the most cost-effective use of the public purse.
So, a big vision and an even bigger challenge; the
first of its kind in the UK.
To meet it, the Housing Corporation made a
unique long term funding commitment to
allow a single partnership organisation to deliver high quality housing
solutions; homes
where people will want to live and choose to stay, in three communities
at three strategic
locations across Cambridgeshire.
Following a rigorous selection process, the Housing Corporation, Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council made their decision and appointed Cambridgeshire Partnerships to deliver the vision. The decision is supported by the major land owners and developers for the three strategic sites.
