As we commence the delivery stage of Trumpington Meadows, the first of the Cambridge Challenge sites, Cambridgeshire Partnerships continues to move forward, in conjunction with its partners, to provide one of the most exciting programmes of affordable homes in the country.

Groundbreaking grant funding provides 40% affordable housing

A groundbreaking agreement between Cambridgeshire Partnerships and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) will deliver 40% of the 1,200 homes at Trumpington Meadows as affordable housing. This will be funded by a grant of nearly £10 million from the HCA.

10% supported housing agreed across all sites

The Accessible Housing Task Group, made up of representatives from Cambridgeshire Partnerships, Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council, is seeking to achieve 10% of affordable housing as supported housing across all Cambridge Challenge sites.

Consultants appointed to deliver Cambridge Challenge

The three locations chosen for the Cambridge Challenge will provide up to 16,000 new homes by 2021. Cambridgeshire Partnerships has been appointed to deliver the first 3,300 affordable homes on these sites. Part of our preparation for the delivery of the 3,300 new homes involved the selection of a wide range of external consultants from six key services / disciplines. Following a rigorous selection process, Cambridgeshire Partnerships has appointed these consultants.

Comings and goings – Team update

As we move into the delivery stage of the Cambridge Challenge, we say a sad farewell to a founding member of Cambridgeshire Partnerships, Katrina Laud, and welcome our new additions to the team, Sue Davis, Harj Singh and Jenny Mayne.

CPL joins Sustainable Urban Neighbourhoods Network

Cambridgeshire Partnerships is pleased to announce that it is now a member of the national Sustainable Urban Neighbourhoods Network (SUNN) scheme, established by The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) to share best practice in building new neighbourhoods in cities and towns.


Guidance on design standards published

Our headline document ‘Design and Quality Standards’ was launched in December 2009, which outlines our vision and design standards for delivering the Cambridge Challenge.
