Preparing for Delivery

Part of our preparation for delivery of 16,000 new homes by 2021 involves the selection of a wide range of external consultants from seven key specialisms; CDM Coordinators, Architects, Employers’ agents, Engineers, Mechanical and electrical engineers, Building surveyors and Code for Sustainable Home assessors.

We are delighted that so many consultants are interested in working with us, and received 543 expressions of interest in total. Rachel Underwood, Assistant Development Director (Northstowe) said, “The Cambridge Challenge is a really exciting project as evidenced by the high level of interest from over 500 local, national and international consultants”.

Due to the high volume of activity that the Cambridge Challenge will be creating, all consultants must go through the EU Procurement process in order to tender. Cambridgeshire Partnerships is in the process of implementing a framework that will include both smaller and larger companies. All applicants are now going through the pre qualification process, followed by the tender process and by October 2009 we hope to have all consultants in place.
