1st Anniversary Celebration
Our first anniversary event on 22nd October was a huge success, with approx 30 attendees from local developers and partners. Our guest list included people from: the Homes and Communities Agency, Gallagher Estates, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire Horizons, Cambridge City Council, bpha, NHS Cambridgeshire, Aldwyck Housing Association, Papworth Trust, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, King Street Housing Society, Keystone Development Trust, Appleyards, Perrins Solicitors and Mills & Reeve Solicitors.
The event was held at Chilford Hall Vineyard and Conference Centre in Linton, Cambridge, which was chosen for its standard of service and attention to detail by its owners, the Alper family, which has invested in developing Chilford Hall over the last twenty years. Chilford Hall is home to one of the largest vineyards in East Anglia and is one of the region's most respected wine producers, earning numerous awards so the fun, informal and interactive afternoon included tasting of locally sourced food and drink. The attendees were also given the chance to create unique artworks in its art studio.
Katrina Laud, Managing Director at Cambridgeshire Partnerships remarked, “We were really pleased with how successful the event was. We even discovered some local artists within our midst such as Colin Wiles, Chief Executive at King Street Housing Society and Ian Burns from NHS Cambridgeshire! Everyone contributed their pieces so we’ve collected some interesting artworks from the event.”
Caroline Clapson, Senior Regeneration Manager, Cambridgeshire at Homes & Communities Agency, said, “I thought the venue was really interesting and I enjoyed the two activity sessions enormously. The whole day provided a really good opportunity to get together with people we work with all the time but with whom I never seem to be able to find the time to have a decent conversation.”
“Just to say how much I enjoyed the event at Chilford Hall. It was a wonderful occasion and you and your staff could not have been kinder or more hospitable. I wish you continued success in the future,” added Sir David Trippier, Chairman for Cambridgeshire Horizons.”
Edward Skeates, Projects Director for Grosvenor Britain & Ireland concluded, “A quick note of thanks for the invitation and for a very enjoyable afternoon marking the first anniversary of CPL. The tasting was a good experience!”
