First anniversary edition Welcome to the second edition of our e-newsletter. Since we were last in touch, a lot has happened at Cambridgeshire Partnerships and we’re proud to say that as we reached an important milestone of one year, we’ve achieved good progress. At a time when the economic situation is so unstable, Cambridgeshire Partnerships has managed to retain its ability to move forward in conjunction with partners and remains one of the most exciting programmes of affordable homes in the country.

Grant secured for 480 homes On 27th November 2008 Cambridgeshire Partnerships secured a Homes and Community Agency (formerly The Housing Corporation) grant for 480 homes at the Trumpington Meadows site. Acquiring the grant is one of our biggest achievements to date and Cambridgeshire Partnerships is pleased to have the grant reserved well ahead of the delivery time. Read more >

1st Anniversary Celebration Our first anniversary event on 22nd October was a huge success, with approx 30 attendees from local developers and partners. Read more >

Planning Update The three sites chosen for the Cambridge Challenge will provide sustainable new communities for a total of 16,000 homes by 2021. To read a planning update on all three development sites in Cambridge. Read more >

Providing Opportunities through Community Development Community development will be at the heart of what we do at Cambridgeshire Partnerships. Over the past 12 months our team has been working hard to build lasting relationships with people living in or near the three new development sites in Cambridgeshire, keeping them up to date on recent developments and community initiatives. Preparing for Delivery Part of our preparation for delivery of 16,000 new homes by 2021 involves the selection of a wide range of external consultants from seven key specialisms; CDM Coordinators, Architects, Employers’ agents, Engineers, Mechanical and electrical engineers, Building surveyors and Code for Sustainable Home assessors. We are delighted that so many consultants are interested in working with us, and received 543 expressions of interest in total. Read more >

Design Vision On 28th October 2008 Cambridgeshire Partnerships attended a design workshop hosted by bpha with an external facilitator to agree our Design Specification and Quality Standards for the Cambridge Challenge project. To read about our vision and values, please click here.
